The Merrie Monarch Festival is looking for a few good … barbershop quartets.
For the 50th anniversary of the festival, which starts March 31, organizers are looking for singers to form groups and enter its Barbershop Quartet Competition.
The competition will be at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2, at the Mo‘oheau Bandstand in downtown Hilo.
In a press release, the festival said it is “calling all singers … polish up on harmonies and join your voices together to make music, have fun and maybe even win some prizes. … Come and share your talents with a song from the era, dress in fashion, and let’s reminisce the days of yore.”
